Pastor Esther K. Faulkner

Pastor Esther K. Faulkner is a dynamic and anointed psalmist, preacher, teacher, and church administrator with a bold commitment to ministering to this present generation. Her spiritual foundation was rooted in the First United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic), founded by her parents, the late Chief Apostle Dr. Monroe R. Saunders, Sr., and Elect Lady Mother Alberta Brockington Saunders. It was in this nurturing environment that Pastor Faulkner developed and refined her many God-given talents.

As a teenager, Pastor Faulkner captivated audiences with her melodic, lyric soprano voice, further enhancing her musical abilities through studies at the Peabody Conservatory of Music and Morgan State University. Her passion for music led her to serve as a soloist in the church choir and to establish “The Bishop’s Chorale,” a renowned ensemble known for its performances of cantatas, classical works, and hymns. She also directed the Monroe R. Saunders Concert Choir, the Gospel Choir, and the Sanctuary Choir at First United Church for many years. In 1993, Pastor Faulkner released her first album, High Places, which was well received.

For thirty-three years, Pastor Faulkner served as Chief Administrator and National Meeting Planner of the United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) under the visionary leadership of her father. From 1999 to 2005, she also led the National Women’s Department, which she renamed “Women of Royalty.” On June 22, 2002, during the Annual Holy Convocation of the United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic), Pastor Faulkner was ordained as an Elder.

Pastor Faulkner has worked alongside her husband, Bishop Roan S. Faulkner, in ministry for more than 30 years. On April 9, 2011, she was installed as Pastor of Faith Christian Center Church International, Inc., after faithfully serving her local church for many years. In recognition of her dedication to ministry, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian University in Jacksonville, Florida, on April 22, 2017.

Her ministry has taken her across the United States, Canada, and the West Indies, where she is sought after as a pastor, preacher, teacher, conference speaker, and recording artist. She uses her gifts to inspire and uplift God’s people, encouraging them to pursue their divine purpose. Since 1994, Pastor Faulkner has also ministered to women from around the world through her annual “Queen Esther Ministries Women’s Retreats.”

In her professional life, Pastor Faulkner has been a successful realtor for more than thirty-six years, currently serving the Baltimore and Howard County areas.

Pastor Faulkner and Bishop Roan S. Faulkner were married on October 12, 1980. They are the proud parents of three adult children: Diane, Clarence (married to Jagoda), and Roan, Jr. (married to Tanisha), and are blessed with two beautiful granddaughters, Karmyn and Clark.
